Au Pair/Nanny job description

Full-time, live-in “mother’s helper”:Monday to Friday, weekends off. Responsibilities include:1) Assist with meeting the basic daily needs of a 6 year old, a three year old and an one year old (preparing meals, bathing, changing diapers), 2) Nurturing the children’s emotional & developmental needs (playing, reading, organizing play dates & activities, talking, hugging), 3) Reinforcing & enhancing our bilingual children’s Spanish-speaking abilities (talk, play, songs & reading) 5)Daily light housekeeping (washing and folding children’s clothing/bedding, periodic toy cleaning, keeping play, eating, sleeping & bathroom spaces clean) & 6) Driving to & from school & other activities as needed. Compensation: weekly stipend, meals with family, private bedroom, limited personal use of car, cell & two-week paid vacation when family is on vacation. Weekly stipend to be negotiated according to applicant experience. Weekly schedule to be determined on an individual basis.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

We are looking for an experienced, native Spanish-speaking woman who loves working with children to join our loving, bilingual family. Our ideal candidate will be a native of Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, Chile, Bolivia, Mexico or Paraguay or other Spanish speaking countries. However, she must also have a firm grasp of the English language. We also require at least one year's experience with driving as this will be an important daily responsibility of anyone we hire. The father is a native of Argentina who has an extremely busy medical practice. The mother is also a physician, but is now a full-time stay-at-home mother in need of an extra set of hands. We have three well-behaved, ENERGETIC children ages six years, three years and one year old, and their safety, happiness and healthy development are our most important priorities. We are looking for someone who is energetic, athletic, honest, mature, organized, creative, warm and loving who can serve as a role model, a trustworthy play-mate, a teacher and a caregiver. We need someone who can adapt and work well with the mother in a team-approach to nurturing our kids. We are also looking for someone who will integrate well with us as a member of the family. We are open and generous in spirit, ready to help make this as much a cultural/educational experience as it will be a work experience. In fact, we sponsored our previous au pair to obtain a Masters degree in Business and Administration at one of the many fine academic institutions in the Baltimore area.
