Au Pair/Nanny job description

Professional family (both parents with Master's degrees) - one a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom) is looking for a nanny/au pair to assist with raising our growing family. Due to corporate relocation, we are moving from Washington State to Reston. Leaving, unfortunately, the great person we found from GreatAupair. We will give opportunity for you to speak privately with our current nanny as one of our references. Typical day could include educational play with Hannah and Sarah, walks, parks, gymboree, swimming, etc. * light housekeeping (including laundry) * some meal prep for the children * normal childcare such as diaper changes, etc. As mom is home as well we are looking for someone who can support our attachment parenting style. It is important to us to maintain a drug free enviornment at all times when interacting with our children. The perfect match would be a student who is looking for flexibility around their schedule. No agencies please.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Dear potential "Family Member", We write it that way because we believe you would become part of our family if we match. Our first (and only nanny so far) is part of our family and we are sad she can't move with us due to her committment to stay married to her husband. :D The 'job description' above is of course not all-inclusive. It is a way for you to get to know us a little better and what we are potentially looking for. A few other things to consider: 1) Travel is not required in this position, but may be available once or twice per year if timing works and the provider is willing/able. 2) As we are somewhat flexible and Rachel is a full time SAHM, we can be very flexible with time off -- especially if you are going to school, etc. NOTE: Typically, our family travels to NY the week starting a few days before and ending a few days after Christmas. We will not need any help at this time as the very large family will be all the help we need :D We do have a contract outlining expectations, etc. which we will ask you to sign. This protects us AND you. We hope to hear from you if you are interested. At this time we are not accepting interest from individuals outside of Virginia, USA.
