| Hi! My name is Valerie and I have 16 years experience with infants, toddlers, multiples and special needs children. I have worked as a full-time/part-time, overnight nanny as well as a nanny share situation with two families. I have early elementary education as a backround and have had many "Real life" experiences in my 16 years.
I am looking to fill my days with a wonderful nanny position. I am very interested in open communication and honesty. I am picky when it comes to families I work for because I love my work and the children that I work for, so I look for families that I feel I can communicate with and become a friend and even a family member to. The one thing that I love most about being a nanny, is the every day wonder and amazement that children bring to the world as they learn and explore their surroundings. I have wonderful glowing references and have lots of experience. I am CPR/first aid trained and certified. I am also a certified red cross swim instructor for the YMCA-infants-adults. I have 6 years experience with this. I love animals. I am a true animal lover, so a family with animals would be wonderful!
Salary is flexibile depending on location, number and ages of children and responsibilities needed. I do believe every family situation is different so I am flexible about leaving the salary discussion open for discussion. I am also offer interested in flat weekly rates, rather than hourly rates, which help give both myself and the family flexibility. I don't mind commuting if the family fit is great. Also, I enjoy creating little journals for each infant/toddler I care for. This helps with open communication because it gives you an idea of what each child did each day and it also is a great memory for you down the line!
Honestly, at the end of the day I'd MUCH rather find a wonderful family to work for, than get a great salary and hate my job! All I ask for is honesty and open communication and I, in return, will give that back! |
