Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family: I am a fun, easy going, social, enthusiastic person who absolutely loves children. And who, in fact, has all the utmost experience needed! My love for children began about 3 years ago by taking a Child Psychology course at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. I completed my first year before moving out to Vancouver. I strongly believe that I have plenty of experience with children and have all the requirements, beliefs and morals of a great au pair! I have been babysitting since I was 11 years old for various families around my neighborhood, have taught gymnastics and ballet to little ones for 4 years, worked with special needs kids for 6 months, was a Big Sister for the Big Sister Organization for a year, volunteered at the Childrens hospital and an elementary school, looked after 3 wonderful kids for a family in Toronto for 6 months and have been a dedicated, full time nanny for 3 wonderful families here in Vancouver. I am also willing to do house work: cleaning, cooking etc. and look after any sort of pet, of course! I am active, I love reading, travelling, music, playing the piano and guitar, dancing, singing and meeting new people. I am currently a live in nanny for two beautiful, little girls but will be finished this January 2009. The reason for this decision is to gain more experience with children from different areas of the world and to fulfill my desire to travel while doing the job that I love the most! I have experience with children of all ages and am very eager to have an opportunity to work with yours. I had a most magnificent child hood and believe that every child should too!
