Au Pair/Nanny job description

Hi, we are looking for an AP to start between now and Jan '09, ideally for a minimum of 6-12 months, maybe even longer? Duties would include, taking our daughter to school, swimming & karate classes, cycling and walking. Other duties would also include preparing her meals, her laundry, her room and helping with homework and light housework. We are a health concious and sporty family. Our daughter is very active & we need an au pair who is also very active, fit, slim, sporty & likes a healthy lifestyle. Our daughter is very outgoing and confident and we need an au pair who is similarly confident and outgoing and able to cope with an energetic 5 year old. We would really like an au pair who can be a true "Big sister" to her Things that are really essential to us:- **Non smoker **Good English speaking **Sporty & athletic **A confident, driver with driving licence (manual car) is essential because we live in the countryside and need to drive most places.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Hello future au pair! Our daughter (born January 2003) is very friendly and has had nannies or au pairs since birth. All of our au pairs have had great fun with us and especially our daughter. They quickly made a great relationship and have had all sorts of great adventures. We have had au pairs from England, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Czech Republic. Our daughter likes cycling, running, swimming, horse riding, skiing, tennis and especially karate! She has lessons for swimming, horse riding, tennis and karate. We need an au pair who is enthusiastic to support these interests! This is very important to us. An au pair who can swim well would be great. We are a recently seperated couple, but we are all still all very close and friendly. We still share some holidays together. We live in two beautiful houses only 5 miles (8KM) apart and our daughter shares both houses (which she loves!). We all enjoy fun and to laugh and would like an au pair who enjoys fun too! We have our own business and can be very busy so we need an au pair who can enjoy that environment and support it with flexibility. We must have an au pair who is comfortable with "sole charge" for when we both need to be away. We live in the East of England about 50 miles (80KM) north of London near the coast 8 miles (12KM) in a quiet countryside location on the edge of a large lake (100 Metres away). The area we live in is typically English beautiful, small and quiet with great walks and cycle areas and very good for running. The local lake is 8M (12KM) in circumference, it offers sailing and watersports. It is also a nature reserve. There is also horse riding, a dry ski slope and tennis locally. The local large towns are Ipswich 5M (8KM) and Colchester 15M (20KM), both with poulations of 100,000+ We think a good diet and healthy active lifestyle are essential for all ages. Because we are in the Suffolk countryside, our location would NOT suit an au pair who prefers to be in the heart of the city (although we are less than 1 hour by train to London) The location would be better suited to an au pair who likes the relative quiet and peace of the countryside, walking, running, cycling, horse riding, sport, wildlife, nature, photography etc There is a lot to do if you are an "active" person. Our new au pair will get a great room in the house with TV DVD radio and live as part of the family. Because we live in the countryside the au pair will need to drive our daughter to her sports classes; so a good driver is essential. We have 2 long haired cats (Maine Coons) so the nanny would need to like cats and be happy to help look after them! These cats are very affectionate and all our au pairs have found them wonderful company!
