Au Pair job description
Dear Au pair,

We are looking for an au pair for three months or one year. The job is taking care of our children during 3/4 days a week and sometimes in the weekends half a day or an evening.

It's most important that you are social, service minded and that you fit into our family. Furthermore, you need to be flexible, because we have changing working hours. That's one of the reasons for us to invite an au pair.

We like you to be part of our family, meaning that you could go with us on birthdays and other visits and that you cook sometimes, help cleaning after dinner and that you keep your room clean. Basically a normal family live.

If you are flexible, independent, and responsible, you are very welcome in a warm and nice family that is used to live with au pairs (former au pairs came from Mexico, Colombia, Urugay and Peru for instance). A qualified au pair is an au pair who is responsable and a good help at the right moments.

We hope to hear from you.

Love, Family

Family's Message to Au Pairs
Dear Au pair,

We have travelled all over the world and are used to different cultures. We hope for an intelligent, warm and social personality and that you are simply a very pleasant person to have with us in the family. A year is long so the fit must be very good. Your personality is more important then anything else.

We have good experiences with Spanish and South American cultures, therefore we like an au pair from those areas. Our son, Martijn (6 years now), understands Spanish perfectly. Anton will be 3 years by then.

We are looking for a normal, responsible, pleasant and mature au pair, who supports us in the daily routine.

We need somebody independent and responsible, because being an au pair is sometimes also a lonely job: You will be alone with our sons and when we are at home we have our busy life: working, cleaning, social life, resting, etc.. So you must be able to enjoy yourself too. Of course we will encourage you to study, visit other places, musea, etc..

Being an au pair is not a job. Not in the way that you do it for the money. You do it for the development of your personality, the adventure and your resume. It's a chance to learn and experience. It's a chance to stay in another country, to learn another language and culture.

You will be our 7th au pair, so we are used to the formula and we like it very much. We live in a standard Dutch familyhouse, in a row, with a small garden. In this house you will have your own room. The bathroom needs to be shared, but of course you will have your privacy. We have references available.

Do you feel OK with this description and you are not afraid for being away from home for a year, then please respond. Keep in mind that we won't choose you quickly. We will talk and write a lot and if we agree in the end, the Dutch government has long procedures before you can enter Holland. So be sure and go for it, if you really enjoy this invitation.

Love, Family
