| Before letting anyone taking care your children, I think you want to know, to understand and more than that, of course, to accept her. So, I would like to clarify who I am, and what characters I have, to ensure why I believe I can be the Au pair with your family.
My name is Ratana , or “Rain”, a woman of 27 years-old. I come from Thailand. As ordinary young girl from urban area, I want to grow up and success in my career. To be like that, I decided to go to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, and had studied in King’s Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, graduated in Industrial Engineering in 2003 with grade 3.14. To studying among engineer students in the university, performed me to be a reasonable person, able to control myself under pressure and gained a valuable experience, there. During studying there, I did not pay attention in only text books, but I also spent my available time in many activities. I always think the culture of my home town is worth supporting, so I attended the Northeastern Club as Thai Local music/Dance called “Ponglang” in the 1st and 2nd year and the Buddhism Club in 3rd and 4th year. I was a camp leader for children too.
After graduated from the university. I temporally worked as Cost Planning Engineer in Auto Industry, concerned about cooperating with makers or suppliers, collecting and creating idea for reducing cost into system and managing Filing System. After 3.5 months, I was called from The Siam United Steel(1995) Co., Ltd., a Famous Steel Manufacturing that I waited for, to be as “Production Planning Engineer” in controlling all production lines in order to optimize Sequence of Production Lines Feeding, Type of Raw Material and Customers’ Delivery Requirement. I think that my team worked so hard, and had pressure all the times, but it was under my control because I had a strong team who were ready to support each other and well-cooperation with the other departments. It was so challenged job and I feel very happy with them and also my colleagues. I had worked there for 3 years and 3 months with thankfulness to everyone and every job I concerns.
Finally, I decided to change my job and applied Aupair program in order to gain much more different kind of experiences which might be unable to find in my country. Of course, I had childcare experience for many years. At the beginning, when I was a girl, I took care my cousin’s sons since they were young babies till they grew up to be young boys. Then, I took care of my niece; she is angel in my family since she was born. What I did were giving bath, changing diapers and clothes, playing game with her, taking her to playground
After, I quitted my job to be Au pair. I have trained at Paninan Boriruk school where is Daycare Nursery in Bangkok for 3 months and also attended First Aid & CPR training for child and infant here. There are so many infants and toddlers there; the age between a month to 4 years old. My responsibilities are taking temperature for sick children by thermometer, cleaning Infants, sterilizing milk bottles, testing milk, changing diapers, playing with children, putting children to bed, preparing and feeding baby’s food for all ages of children. Besides I have observed the children development since the first day of my training. For instant, walking, crawling, trying to speak etc. I also learned how to deal when children cry. I was taught by babysitter how to take a good care of those children. Understanding what children want is also important thing for being a babysitter. I had got many experiences and good memory from here. Moreover, I used to be Teacher Assistant for the kids between 3-6 years old in Jaruwattananukul shcool. I worked with foreign teacher. I have a great time in class with my students. I taught them to sing a song with action, checked homework, read stories, took them to playground.
I became an Au pair for a year with American family. Firstly, I worked in California for 3 months. I took care of three kids, Ethan (6), Mason (2.5), Owen (6 months). They were very nice and lovely kids. We had a great time together. And then, I had to move to New Jersey and worked with a new family. I took care of twins boys. They were 10 months old at that time. We got along very well. I have a wonderful time and best experience in my life with them. I finished my Au Pair in May,2008. Then I moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. I looking for an Au Pair/Nanny or Babysiter part time or full time.
I am patient, friendly, easy going, maturity, warm-hearted, open-mined, responsible, hard-working and has a lot of sense of humor. On the same hand, I am enthusiastic and like to learn new things around me. I would like to be an Aupair because I love Children.
