Au Pair's Message to Families
One of the most important jobs for Au pair is to create a safe and clean environment for the children they live with, passing each day in health and peace of mind. It is very important to establish a relationship of mutual trust with the host family to give children such an environment. It is not easy to live together in one house for people who have different cultures, religions and customs. But it is not difficult at all to do it if we respect each other and set a goal to create a good environment for the children. We need to develop close relations to establish a relationship of mutual trust. And I know I need to improve my English skill to make it happen. It is one reason to participate in an Au pair program. But it is more important to have a strong connection between the host family and me. Intercultural experience is another important thing. It will be a precious experience for me to go to another family’s home and live with them. At the same time I know I will be greatly affected by living with people of a different culture and customs for children. I would like to make an effort to make such experiences into an irreplaceable and wonderful thing. In America I lived for a time with an American family. And I also lived part of the time in a school dormitory. I learned how to get along with people of different cultures and also with people of differing religious beliefs. Also today I live with my family and my mother has always taught me to be responsible. I share in the household duties at home. I am strongly in the belief that these experiences will serve well at this time in an Au pair’s life. In college I studied under a great American teacher about not only language but also American culture, customs, ways of thinking, so many things. And I studied teaching Japanese, too. To teach language isn’t the only thing for teaching Japanese. Laying stress on introducing Japanese culture is also very important. I think I can be successful in applying what I learned in college. In my childhood, when my parents were working, it was very hard for them to care for their children. But my brother and I spent our young years without any injury or sickness. It was not only their efforts. Also it was because of my grandparents, teachers and neighbors who came together as one to give us a great environment. Infancy and childhood are very important to create the base to grow children’s character. The love of parents and others who are around the children are very important for this valuable time. I would love to be a member of the family and offer them the same great environment that I received from my parents and other adults. Also a sense of responsibility is as essential as love. To assist children to think, support themselves and develop the power to act, I want to attend to them with a sense of responsibility as great as that of parents. Children are stimulated to grow from the adults who are near them. So we who directly attend to children need to mature continuously, and I would like to learn a lot of things and soak up from other people and broaden my horizons. I want to have the kind of irreplaceable Au pair experience that money can’t buy, by joining the household of a family of a culture different from mine in order to create a warm family atmosphere in which the children can always feel that they are cared for.

Family Testimonial...
A wonderful site that came highly recommended by a good friend of mine. Especially those in-depth-interviews were a great help in deciding on a matching aupair. We've signed up for the 3-month-period but were so lucky as to find the perfect matching girl within the first couple of days. She is lovely and will be a great asset to our family...we will be a great team, I am sure already. Thanks Grit & family
