Independence Township, MI - Host Family at a Glance
40-something family, primarily American, living in United States. Family speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Looking for a female Au Pair. Our aupair will need to have a driver's license. Light housekeeping is required, and we will not accept an aupair that smokes.
We seek an AuPair to enjoy and help with two great kids, on 2008-2009. The number of hours required per week is very low, less than 25. We need help getting the kids to and from school and with school activities. We would like our kids to be bilingual, so the ability to speak Spanish or any other language is a great plus but NO a requirement.
Family's Message to Au Pairs
We are seeking someone intelligent, sweet and loving to help us with our two children: Adriana and Daniel. Daniel is 7 years old, sweet, extremely talkative, social, and outgoing, loves to play games, and be with friends. Adriana is 14, in 8th grade, and is extremely funny. Once she gets to know someone, she becomes extremely attached. She is very creative and artistic and loves to draw and paint. She also loves to read and play the piano. We seek someone who is patient and warm with children, but who will also challenge them and set down limits when needed, someone who would enjoy playing with them, throwing or kicking a ball and going out on adventures with them, like camping and other outdoor activities. I also need someone who is mature and capable of making reasoned decisions as necessary. While it's relaxing sometimes to watch TV or a movie on DVD or cable, we don't want the kids spending all their afternoons in front of the TV. I want the kids to be bilingual, so someone who could speak Spanish, French Portugues or Italian is a big plus. We live in Clarkston, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). We live within minutes from many restaurants, parks, shops, and several malls. The house has 3 floors, with seven bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The aupair lives in one of the bedrooms upstairs where nearby there is a bonus room with HDTV, Internet, computers, HD-DVD players and a full exercise room. In the back of the house is a wooden patio and a golf course where we often barbecue and have dinner. Frequently we have out-of-town friends and relatives visiting and staying with us. In general, we have an informal lifestyle. We also like to laugh and joke a lot, and the aupair should be comfortable with that. The kids are old enough to do most things by themselves, so the duties primarily involve helping to keep things organized; homework, backpacks, clothes, sports and activities, etc. Please, let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
