Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear family, my name is Sara and I live in the US Virgin Islands currently, but on 10/28/08 will be moving to Paris. I attended and graduated from an all-girls boarding school in CT and while at that school I was involved continuously with a local public elementary school. I helped organize trips, plan activities, and peer tutor with reading. After my completion of HS I attended Columbia University for 2 years, majoring in biology with a pre-med track, but discontinued my studies when I had a realization that I didn't really know what I wanted to do, thus I decided to take a break for a couple of years. So, following my leave from school I was a nanny in Arizona for about a year to three children, ages of 23 months, 4 1/2, and 6 1/2. I cooked simple meals, did laundry, and cleaned ontop of all things related to the children. I thoroughly enjoy organizing, cleaning, and cooking; baking is a favorite of mine! I helped the 23 month old engage in stimulating activities to help get her talking more and changed her diaper. With the older two I would bring them to activities, help them with their homework, and provide them with creative activities that didn't just involve the TV all day long. I also in the past would travel to visit my friend Katherine and help her take care of her son, age 4, since birth. I don't mind helping with pets either, I love animals! I am a bright, enthusiastic girl. I love to learn new things and experience different ways of life. I would love to become a part of another family and help instill good morals and values in their children while simultaneously learning from them as well. I just love children and have a passion for helping them grow into amazing people. I think children are incredibly precious and deserve the best, most loving care one could provide for them which is why as your nanny I will do everything in my power to make it a wonderful experience for you, your children, and myself. I am looking for either a part-time or full-time, live-in or out position. I am willing to do all types of cleaning as well... Vacuuming, mopping, dishes, laundry; I love to clean!
