Nanny's Message to Families

Dear Host Family I came to the US as an AuPair in January,2006. I found my host family through this website and we had a WONDERFUL experience together. I still working for the same family after 2 1/2 years. When I started working for them, the kid that I take care of ,was 2 months old. I simply ADORE the little boy. They treat me as their daughter and I have the baby (today 2 1/2 years old) as my younger brother. I cook for him, drive him every day to different activities, playdates, parks, little gym, etc. I cared for him many times, when he was sick. Also, I taught him Portuguese, so today he speaks English and Portuguese. In addition, I have previous experience in Brazil, with older kids. I took care of many kids, ages 3 - 9, for 5 years. I volunteered for an orphanage for 2 years and I learned a lot working with 20 kids at the same time. Right now, I'm a full time student at Brookdale, studying to become a Nurse. Last year, I did an Internship in a Nursing Home and It was amazing. I learned a lot and realized that , that Is what I'm good at: taking care of people and helping them at any situation. I genuinely enjoy being with kids and caring for them. I love playing with them and being part of their lives. Since the little boy will start going to school in September and the grandmom will move in, the family will not need my services anymore. So It's time to start looking for a new one.
