Au Pair/Nanny job description

Excellent care and appropriate stimulation for my two boys, 4 & 5, and toddler daughter now 21 months (born Jan 2007), who are all cute and fun. They are all fluent in Spanish and know basic sign language. The boys will be in school M-F all day. Light housekeeping only (I have a housekeeper 3 days a week). Errands and occasional dog walking (super sweet little dog). Cooking, ideally, but I love to cook too. The hours are flexible, a mix of weekday and weekend hours. We need someone who is 100% trustworthy, has a sterling character, a heart of gold, and is great with kids. Someone who REALLY *enjoys* being with kids. Our neighborhood is next to a park and university. Within walking distance is a shopping area with eateries and coffee shops. We live in a large home with a private floor for a nanny -- it has cable tv/internet access/refrigerator, private room with attached private bathroom. We provide a cell and access to a car.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Dear Au Pair, We have a wonderful household with two amazing little boys (4 & 5) & a 21 month old girl (born January 2007). I am expecting a new baby in December, but will have a full-time, live-in baby nurse for about 3 months after she or he is born. There is LOTS to do here in our city and at the university within walking distance with a GREAT foreign student program, including intensive English speaking and writing classes. NOTE: the best English in the world is spoken in this city. We have many friends and family close by. We have 2 Columbian nannies and a Columbian sister in law. We must have someone with a BIG BIG heart for children. Someone who is a happy, uncomplicated person, who cares as deeply about her nanny job as her own life, and who is devoted to the safety of our children. In exchange we will open up our home and hearts to you. We will help you learn this culture and perfect your English. You'll work, but you'll have fun and be well taken care of. You'll have access to our yoga studios, our athletic club, the zoo, museums, pools, etc. Ours is a *great* job. We are kind, fair, and respectful. Our full-time nanny and part-time nannies love us. I have always expected excellence in my nannies and have received nothing less. By the way, Omaha was voted by Kiplinger magazine to be the third BEST CITY in the United States!
