Nanny's Message to Families

Hello parents my name is Katie Louise I am 23 and live in a small town in South Wales called Cwmbran, I live with my mum who I am very close and have a special bond with. I have a sister, nephew and to aunties who I am also very close with. I enjoy watching tennis especial Wimbledon, socialising with my friends and family doing activities such as going out for meals, the cinema or just taking a drive down to the bay which is in the city of Cardiff. I have always wanted to work with children from a very young age I feel every one as a skill and something they are good at and looking after children is mine, I have tried to perfect this skill by babysitting children from the age of 14. The family I worked with had three children a baby girl of three months, a girl two years and a boy of three years. I was given full charge of the children which involved making meals and bathing the children this ended when the family moved away. I also looked after a baby girl and was able to build a friendship with the mother and still have contact with her today. The next step was for me to learn how to look after children though education which I feel is very important, I done this by attending college and taking courses such as CACHE Diploma level 3 in Childcare and Education Intermediate Health and Social Care, Emergency first aid childcare course and appointed person, food hygiene and NCMA Childminder and up to date CRB check. I am in the process of becoming Ofsted registered as a nanny. I feel I am very keen and able to adapt to many situations and challenges that come my way, I feel I am very trustworthy, reliably, flexibly, fun loving and a caring person. I am able to communicate effectively with children plan and provide activities which are suitable to meet the children’s educational and emotional needs.
