| Hi, I am a 27 year old mother of one 2 year old son. I have worked as a nanny/household manager for the last 6 years. Previous to that, I worked in 2 different Child Development Centers for about 3 years each. I have been babysitting for more than 15 years now! My son does accompany me to daytime positions. We are definitely a team.
I have worked with children professionally (and in a volunteer capacity) for the last 12 years and have loved most every minute! Any age, any need, and almost any quirks are found to be a joy in the grand scheme of things. I do sign fluent American Sign Language and Signed Exact English and speak tidbits of French. I play the flute and pick a tune or two out at the piano. I do read music and can teach others. I love to learn and encourage kids to do the same. If they find something they love to learn about, then we will find out all we can and then do something with all our new found knowledge! I believe in positive reinforcements and natural consequences for behavior.
I am an excellent multi-tasker. Managing a household is definitely my forte! Schedules, maintenance, grocery shopping, kids' clothes shopping, laundry, keeping house tidy, all while having a great time with the kids is not an easy task, but one I have mastered pretty well over the last few years! My goal as a childcare provider is to make the parents' lives as simple as possible, so that when they return home, they will find happy, healthy children and a home that is a refuge and not a list of "to-dos".
I am seeking either a full-time or part-time position that my son is able to accompany me to. My most recent employer will speak to my flexibility and reliability. I have a newly purchased 2003 Dodge Caravan that is equipped with the LATCH system and is in exemplary condition and gets routine maintenance checks for safety! I own 2 convertible car seats that are professionally installed to ensure the safety of the children. I would be glad to purchase any other necessary seats for the van.
I look forward to talking with you soon. Have a blessed day! |
