| I love to have fun with the kids, while making sure that they know that there are boundaries. I know that kids learn so much more from experiences and I like to let the children have adventures and let them embrace their own "style"! Also, I try to help kids learn their proper manners and responsiblities of contributing to a household (ex. cleaning their plates and making their beds).
I have been around children all of my life. I started babysitting when I was 12 for a 2 y.o., 5 y.o. and a 8 y.o. I have been taking care of children ever since! I graduate from college in December of 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education. I am looking for a position that would be for January until the new school year starts in August, which means I would have to leave by the end of July. However, if my new family and I get along wonderfully, I will consider staying longer and postponing my start to teaching.
Right now, I am the nanny to a 4 y.o. and a 6 y.o. They are wonderful kids! Last year, I was a nanny to a family with a 3 y.o and before that I was a nanny for 2 y.o and a 4 y.o. When I started as a nanny, I had a family that had a set of twins and their brother who were all under the age of 4! While being a nanny I have done light housework and cooking for the kids. However, I am not opposed to other responsiblities. I am willing to take the children to wherever they need to go and will help with homework, etc.
I have traveled many places over the last few years. I've been to a good majority of the United States and last fall, I lived in Stuttgart, Germany and studied in Ludwigsburg for 2 months. It was a wonderful experience and I absolutely fell in love with Europe. I think this will be a great way to combine both of my loves: working with children, traveling! |
