| Dear family, My name is lindsey . I am 22 years old. I am currently living on the north side of chicago, in the town of lake forest where i grew up. I have recently graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in child psychology. I was on the varsity swim team. i often gave swim lessons and worked with the local swim team. i also volunteered in the children's hospital twice a week, in the playroom and the ER. I worked with the child life staff, which insured that the children has normal social, emotional, and mental development during their time in the hospital.
Since graduating i have spent the last year working as a housemother at an orphanage in Thailand. I worked with kids aged from 3 to 12. Here my responsibilities included, waking them up, getting them ready for school, planning organized activities for after-school, teaching informal english through sports and art, giving swim lessons, helping with homework, and getting them ready for bed. Working so closely everyday helped me develop and effective way to work with children, and apply the theories i learned in the classroom to real life situations.
I am very easy going and can deal with most situations i am put in with ease. This helps me tremendously when working with kids, since they are always unpredictable. I love working with kids, and with the right level of fun and respect you can accomplish a lot.
