| My name is Kari and I grew up in Northern Michigan and Lake Superior. I am the oldest and only girl. I have two younger brothers. While growing up I was my Dad and Mom’s helper. It is said that when I left my Mom got a dishwasher and hired a maid. (Just kidding.) I helped Dad with the re-modeling, whether it be electric wiring, plumbing, or painting.
Growing up we were a foster family for newborns until they got adopted and I was changing, feeding and playing with them since I was in about 2nd or 3rd grade. We were also an emergency foster care home where abused children could find refuge until they found a loving relative willing to take them and give them the love they need.
My first job out of high school was a Bay Cliff Health Camp as a camp aide in charge of doing the dishes for 250+ and then as a counselor for five boys between the ages of 8 & 10. Loved it.
I came to the land of the skyscrappers called Chicago and did what I needed to do to get where I am today. I worked 3 jobs at times, had my own apartment cleaning business, did alterations, was a janitor, just to name a few. I ended up getting a job working in the land of cubicles until 2006, then a new career possibilty drew me away. That career opportunity went down the drain with the mortgage company closure. Since then I have been gainfully unemployed and looking for work.
During that time I became the “Neighborhood Nanny" taking the neighborhood boys fishing and how to play baseball and football. I had forgotten how much I love playing and working with children.
Well, I could go on and on, but I’m sure you have things to do besides reading this.
Please let me know if you are interested and I do have 3 good references and when we meet I will give them to you.
Thank you for your time and until then please have a GREAT day!!!
