Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear family, My name is Emma, and I am seeking a family in Spain. I have taken Spanish for several years in school, and have gained a curiosity about the Spanish culture. My teacher spoke affectionately about her time spent there. Living in Michigan, I am not exposed to much of Latin-America. Several of my friends have traveled to European countries (Spain included) and expressed how life changing their experiences were. I love children, and I am great with animals. I will care for any special needs children or adult family members. I have been caring for children since I was 13, and I take pride in my ability to do so. Though I am experienced in caring for others, I am not opposed to learning. My cousin recently had a baby, and caring for an infant is a fairly new challenge I was excited to concur. In my spare time, I enjoy writing, art, music, and reading. My favorite author is Milan Kundera. My favorite band is probably The Beatles, although I can always appreciate jazz. I also enjoy an active lifestyle, having been involved in swimming, running, and competitive sports during my school years. I have two dogs- Sigmund and Darwin- whom I love dearly. They can make me smile any time. I've been around animals my entire life, and have no problem caring for them as part of my employment. I would be honored to be a guest in your home. I cannot think of a better experience than to go to a new culture, and be doing something that I love as much as caring for children!
