Au Pair job description

Prepare children for school and kindergarden, serve light breakfast, drive the smallest one to and from kindergarten (5 min drive), cook light (simple) dinner some times during the week, play with and keep the children company in the afternoon until we're back from work (normally 1-2 hours) - make sure homework is started etc., do some housework (i.e. keep the house tidy, wash clothes and put them away, some light cleaning in kitchen, living room, entrance area). Part time contract is possible.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Dear future au pair! We are a busy, spontaneous and active Norwegian family with three sweet boys aged 3, 6 and 9, living in Asker 20-25 minutes outside Oslo. We are looking for a warm-hearted, responsible and intelligent au pair who could help us keep the spirits up and the pressure down during our day-to-day activities! Maybe you are a student of Norwegian language and culture, or otherwise have a particular interest in coming to Norway or to Scandinavia. It is of great importance for us that you have a DRIVING LICENCE and that you are a fairly confident driver. In order to match our expectations and personalities you also need to be dedicated, energetic, a quick learner and full of initiative, as well as genuinely interested in and able to bond with our children. You must be the kind of person who puts her pride in doing an excellent job whatever her current occupation is. We are not always able to stick to our plans (nor even make plans in the first place..), so a bit of flexibility and ability to improvise would be useful for somebody staying in our family. :-) We can offer you a nice, separate living quarter in the house with your own place to withdraw in the evenings (includes bed room, living room, and your own bathroom). The house is located in a nice, green, quiet, residential area with beautiful nature just around the corner, though only 10 minutes walk from the train station (Oslo port and center only 20-25 minutes away) and 1 km from the community center with cafés, shops, library, cinema etc. etc.. We are kind and generous people who will respect your privacy and free time, and if you invest equally generously in us and our family we are prepared to welcome you with open arms!
