Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Au Pair Family, I am 20 year old Johanna from north germany, grown up on an little island, called Pellworm. I lived there with my family of seven until I finished the 10th grade at the age of sixteen. To visit a further going school, I moved to Husum in 2004. Since then I live on my own, but still very close to my family. I am the oldest of five children and thanks to that, I know how to take care of little kids. I will hopefully graduate in summer 2008 and am really looking forward to spending the following year in Copenhagen or Stockholm. My reasons for prefering these big cities are a strong interest in multicultural, lively and outgoing places and a lot of love for Scandinavia, where I have spent a lot of my summer holidays with my family. The city I live in is not that big and hence I´m really looking forward to new challenges. Being an Au Pair means finding kind of another family to me. I would call myself open-minded and interested in other traditions and especially languages. Either Copenhagen or Stockholm will give me the opportunity to learn another languages besides English, which I speak fluently. I would even learn the preferred language before enterring your country if this is wanted. I surely won´t mind doing some housework. Since I live on my own, I have to do everything on my own, which has been a very good experience. My favourite hobby is music and I love everything connected to this topic.
