Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are a loving, fun, happy, professional family of five seeking similar qualities in our future Nanny! We have three amazing little girls (4, 3, 1) and are expecting our fourth child in January. We recently relocated to Ellicott City, MD from Portland, Maine. Mom will be doing a Radiology fellowship in Baltimore and Dad will be in his second year of “pay back” at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

We are a very healthy, active, educated, friendly, warm family. We are looking for a Nanny who will provide our children a loving, nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment. They are such happy little kids and are hard not to love (of course we are a little biased :-). Their favorite activities are reading, singing, dancing, making arts and crafts, playing dress-up, pretend-play, and going to playgrounds and the beach. Our future Nanny must have experience with toddlers. She must be someone who will not get easily flustered by the business in our household. Our future Nanny must be someone who takes initiative to plan fun things for the children and it is imperative that she be proactive member of our household. She must be neat, tidy, and organized. We are searching for an amazing person who is flexible, happy, and outgoing, who showers our children with hugs and kisses, is silly and imaginative, and who will create a structured environment for our children with clear rules and boundaries while stressing the importance of respect and good manners. It is critically important that our future Nanny be a special kind of person who is organized, motivated, committed, fun-loving, honest, happy, and knows how to “stay 10-steps ahead.” Above all else, she must LOVE what she does! We are seeking a Nanny who similarly desires a LONG-TERM relationship with our family as we want to minimize the number of transitions in our childrens' lives.
