Au Pair job description

Mum works 2 - 3 days a week so we will need the children taken to and from school and after school clubs at this time. You will be free from 9am to 4pm on most days. The main duties will be getting breakfast for the children and making sure they are ready for school and then picking them up from school if Mum is working and staying with them to do their homework and cooking their evening meal. The children go to bed at 8pm or 8.30pm so you are free most evenings - we would like you to babysit once or twice a week and occasionally at the weekend. Otherwise, all your weekends are free. We would also like some help with the housework (approx 3 hours a week) and ironing. It is very important that you like pets as we will want help walking our daog, Charlie.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

We live in a town called Walton on Thames in Surrey which is 30 mins by train from London. Our town has a large au pair community and there are a number of English schools where you can study. We have a reasonable shopping centre within 2 miles of our house with clothes shops, chemists, coffee shops and pubs. We are also close to the River Thames. Mum works part time and studies too so needs help with the children most days but only outside of school hours. The children are Matthew, almost 10 years old and Anya, 8 years old. You need to love animals - we have a labrador/collie cross breed dog called Charlie who needs lots of walks and 3 cats - Jessica, Emily and Lucy. You will have your own room and shared bathroom and use of the car when we don't need it.You will also have use of a bike which will get you to most places in our town. Some of our au pairs have never driven a car whilst living with us. We can give you email details of our previous au pairs so you can find out what we're really like! Niki was with us for 2 years and now lives in Walton on Thames. Her sister, Szilvie, was also our au pair and she also loves in Walton now. Our first au pair has just had a baby and also lives here!
