Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family: I love working with and spending time with children. I have been babysitting infants and young children since I was 11. I have 2 younger siblings, who I have helped take care of since they were born. I've taken care of twin newborns. I babysat for a family with an infant from the time he was 3 months to 10 months. I have also babysat for a family with 2 sets of twins, 20 months apart, the oldest being 3 and the youngest 18-20 months. I've babysat twins on a weekly to daily basis from the age of 10 months to the age of 3 years old. I also provided daycare for a friend who is a single mom, her daughter was 9 months when I started and 13 months when she moved away. I also provided childcare for different functions and took care of up to 40 kids at a time between the ages of 2 months and 10 years. A few summers ago, I was a camp leader at 2 cubscout camps, and in charge of the daycare for 1 of them. I was also a babysitter for an infant girl, and a family with 2 children (one 8 and one 12) who live in CT. Besides taking care of children, I have many hobbies in which I could teach the kids if you would like. I snowboard, skateboard, casterboard, and i'm learning to surf. I also horseback ride during my down time. I play basketball and soccer. I also enjoy swim. I have a passion for filmmaking. I have been acting in short films, on stage, and in 2 feature length movies (neither of which ended up in theatres) since I was 5 years old. I also enjoy working on scrapbooks and other crafts. I enjoy working on paintings, drawings, and other forms of art. I love working with children of all ages, and I am constantly amazed with them at every age. Pets are great because I have had pets my entire life. I have had dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish, turtles, and rabbits. I am also saving up to buy a horse in the future because I want to own a horse ranch some day. I love working with twins and other multiples. I have also raised 3 litters of puppies (birthdays March 25, 2007, October 1, 2007, and May 26, 2008), totalling 14 puppies. I am looking for a live out position because I have 2 puppies, who I do not wish to impose them on my host family.
