| We would like to welcome you in our family and give you a happy home away from home. We have four kids (2x 7 years (born 3/2001), 2x 4.5 years (born 8/2003)). Yes, you read correctly, we have two sets of twins and it's real fun – we love it. We hope to find somebody who will love our kids and "adopt" them as family. In return, we think that we can provide the warmth of a family for you. We are an outgoing and fun loving family and like the outdoors. We already had aupairs since more than four years, among those two from the US (Ohio and Wisconsin) – we are still in close contact with them. We (including the kids) very much love the company and experience.
The older twins (Janika and Kajan) are in second grade in elementary school, and the little ones (Kenio and Marik) are in day-care. My husband, Kristian, and I, Katja, both hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry. We work at the nearby university as assistant professors. Our job also requires some traveling, which we often made a family trip including our aupair. This e.g. took all of us to Berlin, Barcelona, Rom, London, Stockholm, Boston and San Diego. Our aupairs also joined us for summer vacation at the Mediterranean see and skiing in the Alps.
We live in a house with a little yard in Freiburg, the so-called "capital" of the black forest region in Germany. The top floor would be yours: one large room, your own tiny bathroom (w/o shower, which you would thus share with us) and a smaller room which can be used as storage space or could be furnished as kitchenette. Our house is close to the beautiful city center with great cultural activities and shopping opportunities as well as to the student quarter. Freiburg has about 212'000 inhabitants and about 23'000 students. Our place is also great for outdoor lovers who want to go skiing (downhill and cross country), hiking, walking, running etc. If you want multi-cultural experience you can easily reach Switzerland and France in about 30 to 45 min.
Before we moved back to Germany in fall 2000, we lived in Switzerland and the United States (Berkeley, CA) for a few years. Since we enjoyed our stay in the US and the people so much, we are looking for somebody to share this culture with our kids. We want to educate our children bilingual and love to have a native English speaker around. All kids speak some English so that knowledge of German is not required. Any teaching experience or even an education in this field or anything related to child education or development would be a plus. More information about the job and the location can be send on request.
We can't wait to hear from you!
