| Greetings from Texas!
I'm Christina, a 26 year-old American woman with a B.A. in English and History and 10+years of childcare experience...of course, these qualifications are great, but they don't compare to what I've learned in life.
A bit about my professional background: my work experience ranges from working at a U.S. Senator's Press a small Texas company of 350+ employees.
My childcare experience, however, is much more varied and extensive: I've worked at summer camps for three years, taught Sunday School for two years, volunteered with camps for 2 years, volunteered as a mentor and tutor for four years, babysat/nannied for 10+ years, and I just finished teaching Spanish to children full-time! Essentially, I LOVE working with children and find that it is one of my most natural talents.
My philosophy about education and child care is simple: children are very, very adept and intelligent, and are just waiting to be guided in the right direction; I believe that CREATIVITY is paramount to their development and that they should be free to explore that apect of themselves. While I'm very casual with kids, I'm also quite efficient at maintaining order and keeping peace between siblings. I like to use Somerhill/Sudbury/Montessori principles when I'm working with youngsters.
I love exploring new cultures and languages and have traveled quite a bit...but would love do to more! I am taking time off from 'real jobs' in the private/public sector to explore what the world has to offer: beautiful people and different cultures. I look forward to speaking with you!
