| We are an active family who likes the outdoors, to travel and to live life. There are 6 individuals and 5 animals. There are 4 children ages 8, 6, 3 and 2. Evelyn is the oldest and starts 3rd grade in September, Amelia starts 1st grade and Christian and Lydia are both in a pre-school program 5 and 3 days a week respectively. The pets are 2 loveable mutts, 1 cat, and 2 dwarf goats.
Dad works in Boston and I work from home approximately 3 days a week. We enjoy travel, sports and outdoor activites. Our family likes to ski, hike, explore, canoe, whale watch, swim, read books and garden.
The children are very typical kids with no special needs. They are well behaved and do well in school. We avoid TV for the most part and encourage book reading. They love to be outdoors and participate in sports and other activites. We have a wonderful playroom for the kids with toys and art and crafts work areas. In most kinds of weather we strongly encourage that the kids play outside; going to parks, hiking in the nearby woods, children’s museums, swimming, etc. During the summer there are no set routines, but we spend lots of time at the swim club and summer trips to the beach (Nantucket and Delaware) and visits to see family.
The accommodations we have for our au-pair is a private loft above one of our our detached garages. It has a small kitchenette and full bathroom as well as its own private entrance. Being on the second floor, it gets lots of sunshine. We also have 3 cars one of which is always available to the au pair.
I hope that gives you a general understanding of our family, environment and the opportunities afforded to you. Thank you! |
