Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are looking for a loving bright and experienced person to help us look after our 3-year old daughter. I work in Central London full-time (occasionally at home) while my husband works in Cambridge. Our daughter goes to nursery several mornings a week. We expect you to help out with general childcare, engaging our daughter in a range of activities at home or in playgroups, taking her to the park and just generally having fun with her in a creative way. We are flexible about fixing the hours within reason to accommodate your studies etc. Your weekends would be free except for very occasional and pre-arranged babysitting as would most of your evenings from around 7pm onward. We also expect you to do light housework, such as laundry, tidying up after our daughter and other small duties but nothing that we would not do ourselves! Your primary responsibility is looking after our daughter.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Dear au pair we are a loving international family that would like to welcome someone into our house to look after our very special daughter. She is a happy child who is fun and easy to look after and laughs a lot. She likes to draw, play and dance. We can offer you a home in London that is both central (in zone 2), less than 5 minutes from tube and busses but is also a lovely area with great cafes, activities for you to do with or without our daughter and right next to Hampstead Heath, the most beautiful park in London, as well as other great places to hang out. If you wish to attend language school or other studies, there are plenty of opportunities within easy reach and we can accommodate that as long as you have time to attend to our daughter. She will be attending nursery most mornings so ideally that would be when you would study. You will have internet access and other amenities available to you. We are looking for a bright, caring and well-spoken person who is creative in playing with our daughter and is responsible and independent. It would be great if you have some prior (checkable) experience with children and of living away from your home country. It would be great if you enjoyed cooking for our daughter but it is not necessary as dad is a great cook as long as you are capable of the basics! You will be treated as one of the family but will also have plenty of time to pursue your own interests. We hope you will have a great time while you are with us.
