Family's Message to Au Pairs

Hi. My name is Jake and I'm a very happy and funny 7 year-old boy. I don't have any brothers or sisters and so I would really like a lovely 'big sister' who would like to look after me, cuddle me and play with me when my dad is at work. It would be great if you could take me to school and collect me, it's ever so close by. Sometimes I like to go to my friends house after school but usually I like to have my friends around here: my dad likes it as he says it keeps me quiet! I like the pictures, ice-skating, ten-pin bowling, swimming, laser-quest, and cycling. If you could take me when my dad can't, or come with us if he can and you want to, then that would be really great. I also like to go to new places and do new things and it would be really good if you could look on the Internet for me and come up with some great ideas too, because then we can have lots of fun together. Oh, I think my dad needs some help too as he is struggling a bit trying to be a housewife, a dad and working. So, if you could help him, when you are not looking after me, then I know he would be over the moon! Oh, and seeing as this is my wish list: can you teach me your language, a musical instrument, help me with my homework and generally expand my horizons (the last bit is from my dad, I don't really know what it means either!)? We have got a lovely house and you would have a lovely room (though my dad hasn't got around to building a nice bathroom onto your nice bedroom yet, or sorted out the quirky entrance, but I'm sure he would if he knew you were joining us). We have an indoor swimming pool and sauna (but we never seem to have any water in the pool during the winter - something technical my dad says, which he says he will fix sometime soon too). I spend 2 or 3 nights a week at my mums -- usually Sunday, Monday and Tuesday -- so you will be able to get lots of time to yourself to explore our lovely country or to spend with friends that we will try and help you to make. I am bright, happy, friendly and trusting and I get on with everyone (except David who is a bit too rough sometimes!). I really like people that are nice to me and I love lots of cuddles. We have not had an Au Pair before but it has worked very well for a friend of mine, and I could do with some help, so I thought we should give it a try! I'm looking for a happy, funny, lively 'big sister' for my son Jake to look after him and entertain him whilst I'm at work (and to allow me to go out occassionally too!). I do need some help around the house I'm afraid: there will only be the three of us so there isn't that much to do - but that will depend on how much mess we all make I guess!! My main aim is that Jake is safe, has fun, enjoys lots of new experiences and is mentally challenged and stimulated. Some of this you will bring with you, I'm sure. Some of it I'd like you to think about and arrange. My secondary objective is to relieve me of some of the housework. I guess what I'm saying is I'm a man, help!
