Au Pair/Nanny job description

We would like you to be a part of our family To participate in our family activities To have fun To learn, and grow with us To help guide our children To help us learn your culture To help pick up around the house...but never more than we would do ourselves To spend vacations with us To smile with us To help children with their activities Maybe even walk the dog...every now and then. Very flexible with hours and days Children are in school full time, all day Except for vacation and weekends. Kids will be at school Many of your weekdays will be free to explore and learn. University of Colorado in Boulder, has many courses to choose from not that expensive either!! All of our past Au pairs have had a great time. Some have come back to spend their vacations with us! Never have we had any problems. We will cover expenses ( room, food, gas, car ) We will not pay Agency fees Tourist visa would be ok...you can go back and fourth We will help with the airfare.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

We are a family fo 5 . Our daughter is 15.Our 2 boys are 12 and 7. We live in beautiful, Boulder, Co. A University town in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We are a town of 120,000 people. Very bicycle friendly. Bicycle paths everywhere. Our 2 youngest kids, ride their bicycle to and from school every day. Our oldest rides the bus to and from high school. We are very laid back, quiet folks. We would like you to become part of our Family. It is so very important that you feel welcomed as part of us. We want you to feel comfortable. To lean on us if something is wrong. Just like our kids do. We love to travel . We have close family that lives in Munich. We go and visit quite often. My brother, and his wife and kid live there. Love the Beer gardens. Our house in Boulder has fantastic views of the snow capped Rocky Mountains.A truly outdoors paradise. With 25,000 University students, Boulder is a wonderful town to live in. Great Food, Great culture, fantastic events almost every weekend. Very easy to get around. Fantastic bus system also.You can walk to some stores near our house. (5 minutes) A typical day in our lives. I get up and go to work about 7 am back home at 3 pm and hang out with the kids. janie gets the kids ready for school (breakfast, Makes lunch) Kids go off to school by themselves at obout 8 am. Then, maybe tidy up the house a bit. Then free time until 3pm Janie works 1 day a week 3 oclock and the kids are getting out of school. Usually play dates///homework///bike riding, playing in the yard. There are many kids on our street.ey all play together. I love to cook, that is usually good time to be with the kids. ( reading///homework). We like to all sit down and have a family dinner together. No phones or distractions!!That is very important to us. Sometimes the kids have different sports/or activities that they need to get to. Everthing in Boulder is real close, no more than 10 minutes or so. As you can see, there is a lot of time for yourself. There will be weekends where janie and I will spend time together. That will be more busy time for you. But it's all alot of fun. We have a ski condo near Vail, Colorado. Vail is about a 2 hour drive from Boulder. It is the largest ski area in America. Many retired Germans live there too!! We try to go skiing alost every other weekend. We spend the month of July at our beach house on Fire Island. It's a wonderful, small Island on the south shore of Long Island, New York. Right on the beach. There are no cars. only bicycles! You have to take a boat to get there. We also go into New York City, my parents have an apartment in Manhattan. We travel To Chattanooga, Tennessee for part of the summer also. Near the Great Smoky Mountains. Nice lakes, rolling hilis.rt of like Bavaria. The kids go to sleep-away camp there. They usually go for 1 or 2 weeks. At Home in Boulder, we love to go camping. We love to go to concerts, and movies. We love the outdoors, We have a beautiful yard at our house, with a trampoline in the back .. the kids love to jump for hours!! If you join us, you would have your own part of the house. A bedroom, TV room ,and bathroom. We have 2 dogs, Chloe, and Maggie. They do not shed hair!!!! Janie Loves to sew and ride horses. She works 1 day a week at a sewing store. I am in the financial services business (Wall Street) I ride my bike to and from work Monday through Friday. I grew up in New York City, Janie grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We have had 4 au pair's in the past, Every other year. We have never had a problem . We treat them like family. Because they are! Just like Family. We still stay in touch and care about all of our past Au pair's. We love them like our own! Hopefully you can be part of our tradition
