Au Pair job description

We would like our au pair to look after Amelie (4.5 years) and Josephine (2 years) including playing with them, singing, dancing, encourage them to learn new things, support them in their development, bringing them to bed after lunch, tidying up toys, take Amelie to Kindergarten in the mornings and collect her at noon, going with them to the playground and to afternoon activities and make the time for the children enjoyable. We also expect the au pair to do light housework such as grocery shopping, running errands around the house (tidying, dusting, etc, washing and ironing not required) and cooking for herself and the children. She should be a happy person, outgoing, mature, take responsibility, be well-organized, independent and have a sense of humour. Experience with children and good references required. All weekends, evenings and local/national holidays are free in general. Babysitting is required twice a month in the evening during the week.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Dear Au Pair, We are a fun-loving, active, happy German-Dutch family living in Zurich, Switzerland. We are looking for a likewise au pair to stay with us for at least 6-12 months, ideally longer. We have two cute little daughters. Amelie is four and a half years old, and a wonderful, easygoing little girl, who loves to talk, sing, dance, likes handicrafts, is creative, likes story telling, and is an outdoor person. Our second daughter Josephine is two years old and a happy, curious girl as well. Her hobbies so far: looking at books, drawing, playgrounds, dancing. My husband is Dutch and I am German, therefore we speak German and Dutch at home. We live centrally in the city of Zurich with garden view and excellent public transport connection (10 minutes with the tram to city center, Zurich main station or the lake). Our hobbies are travelling, meeting with friends, and good food. We offer our au pair a nice, sunny room with own bathroom and free computer usage. We support our au pair in learning German or Dutch. We are looking for an au pair, who has experience with small children, loves them, is caring, enthusiastic, takes responsibility, likes outdoor activities, is positive thinking, pro-active, humorous, reliable, honest, flexible, and trustworthy. Please apply only if your German and/or Dutch language skills are good enough to communicate (we don't want to add English as a third language for the children at this young age). If you haven't been to Zurich yet: Zurich is a very nice, old city at a lake which offers many activities (student city, culture: opera, theater, cinemas, museums, sightseeing, sports: swimming in the lake, water sports, skiing in winter within one hour drive by train, hiking, etc). Switzerland has 4 official languages, among them German, French and Italian, and Zurich is in the German speaking part of the country.
