Nanny's Message to Families

Hello, I am Lindsay. I am the youngest and only girl in my family; I have two older brothers. I live in the very beautiful town of Kelowna on the Okanagan Lake where I love spending time at the beach. I have a fairly large extended family (lots of little cousins). I am in my third year of University at UBC-Okanagan, I plan to become an elementary school counsellor. I would love to work for a family before/after school as I am also a student at UBC-Okanagan. I love children (animals also), of all ages. When I first began babysitting I took a babysitting course which gave me some first aid training. I have also completed all levels of swimming lessons, which provided me with some more first aid training. I am very responsible, organized and reliable. I have previously been an Au Pair for a family with three young girls and also for a family two young boys and a baby girl. I also have tons of baby-sitting experience over the past 10+ years. My first language is English, but I have also been studying French since the age of six and I am nearly fluent in reading, writing and speaking. I love working with children and and think it is a good opportunity to gain experience for future careers. I would love to spend time with your children, playing with them, helping them with school and house work as well as taking them out for various activities both indoors and outdoors. Caring for the children would be priority however, I would expect to help around the house and certainly clean after the children and myself. I have a drivers licence and my own car; I have been driving everyday for about seven years. I am very eager to learn more about your family, and I am sure you will have many questions for me and I have good references.
