Nanny's Message to Families

Dear Family, Hi, my name is BreeAnna. I am 25 years old and a native Californian. I currently work as a full-time live-in nanny for a family with two adopted children, a girl age 4 and a boy age 6. I have worked with them for 18 months and absolutely love my job. However, the family is soon relocating and I am not able to follow them. Before becoming a nanny I was employed as a teacher's aide in a private preschool for an academic year. While there I taught, cared for, and played with children ages 2-5. I have been a camp counselor for 3 summers, teaching and counseling girls ages 6-17. I also have years of experience babysitting all ages. I am a college graduate--I received a BA in Humanities: History from Biola University in May of 2006. I have also taken some graduate level child development classes. I enjoy "outings," reading, singing, and anything artistic. I love the wonder that children have as they explore the world. I am gentle, loving, and flexible. In my experience with children I have learned that all kids need some of the same things, for example: love, stability, and play. However, in so far as each child is different, each child needs to be treated as an individual. In my work I have found it indispensable to bond with the children and get to know them before being able to really succeed in working with them.
