Au Pair job description
The position would include looking after the twins (Joe and Matilda aged 14 months) for 2-3 hours most mornings and 3 hours each afternoon (30 hours a week). Including bathtime and feeding, going out walking to the beach or to the park. We also have a small dog and she loves to go out with the twins too. I need help with bathtime with my daughter (Pepali 4) and minding the twins whilst I collect her from pre-school (3 days a week). On her 2 days at home she may need looking after perhaps with some craft activities or games to play. Drying, ironing and putting away laundry and some light housework would also be in the position. We would also expect 2 nights babysitting a week 1 midweek and another at the weekend. Hope that sounds OK! Look forward to hearing from you, Victoria
Family's Message to Au Pairs
Dear Au Pair, We are so excited to welcome an au pair into our family. We have now had 2 previous au pairs and both girls have fitted into the family wonderfully. If you are interested I can refer you to both girls for a reference about us so you can get an idea of what its really like to work with us. I am a stay at home mum but work one day a week from home. I am an executive assistant for a fundraising consultant. My husband is a publisher who owns his own company and works in Manly. He publishes a variety of magazines for banks, car companies and travel companies. My daughter Pepali is now 4 and she is very soft natured, extremely kind, sensitive and helpful. She is very friendly and has welcomed both previous au pairs with open arms. She loves Barbies, princesses, fairies and all things pink. The twins are Joe and Matilda. They are both SO SO smily and very happy. They are incredibly easy going and great fun to have around. Both our au pairs have been so surprised at how easy they are to look after having initially been daunted by the idea of twins. Joe was born with a cleft palate and will be having an operation next March 2010 but he is very tough and does not complain. Matilda is very independent and curious and so cute. I really hope you may be keen to join our family. We are very lucky to live on the outskirts of Manly in a house overlooking the harbour. We see colourful birds each morning on our balcony and wake to birdsong. We can walk to small beaches within 5 minutes and into Manly itself within 20 minutes. We can offer your own room and a bathroom which is shared with the children. We have a second sitting room where you can relax if you'd like some separate space or you are welcome to watch TV with us if you prefer. We always eat dinner together and have a little chat about the days events and would hope you would like to join us for that. Anyway - I look forward to hearing from anyone who thinks they may fit in with us. Best Wishes, Victoria
