| I guess I should start off by telling you about what's going on in my life right now. I go to a university in Michigan and just finished my third year. I am studying elementary education (language arts) and am planning to be a kindergarten teacher. I've worked in many different classroom settings (preschools, kindergartens, high school, etc), I also used to tutor when I was in high school. I am currently working on transferring to Northern Illinois however, so I am looking for a position in Illinois.
I am an aunt of two; my niece is turning 11 this august, and my nephew will be turning 10 in October. They lived with my family and I for about 6 years. I grew up a second mother to them; babysitting, bathing, feeding, bringing them to school, and keeping them active on a daily basis. I've babysat for many other families as well, all of which I can give references for. I also aupaired in France in the summer of 2007.
I have many different hobbies; I love painting, drawing, coloring, basically anything arts and crafts :) I couldn't live without getting use of the beautiful outdoors, so I make sure to enjoy them whenever I can. I like many different sports, but particularly baseball, basketball and soccer. I used to play softball in high school, and I played soccer and baseball as a child. One of my other biggest passions is cooking. It's become quite big at my school (always cooking for friends and fellow students). So, if you like to eat, I can help in that department as well.
Along with working with children and schools, I've had a few chances to work with the elderly as well. I was a volunteer at a retirement home in high school, and helped out at a hospital near school. I was also offered a position at an Alzheimer's clinic by my home in Illinois, but was unable to take the job because I was going back to Michigan for the fall semester. I have plenty of experience with animals if you need help with any. I have 3 dogs, a cat, 2 birds, lizard, and many others. I grew up with lots of pets my whole life.
It is my dream to work with children. I want to be someone to help them grow, teach them the alphabet :) and educate them with the basic knowledge to survive in the world today. If you choose me as your nanny, you're children will not only be in good reliable care, but they will have lots of fun as well! We'll play games, teach each other about our different cultures, build, cook, play outdoors, and whatever else we can find to do with our time.
Feel free to talk with me about anything you may have concerns about, suggestions for, or just anything you feel that I should know! I'm a good listener, and one of my favorite things to do in life is to help. I promise to be respectful of your wishes and expectations I only ask that you do the same in return for me :)
If it seems that I match your needs of a nanny than PLEASE send me a note or a message or a call, whatever is easiest for you :) because I look forward to hearing from you! I wish you the best of luck with all of your searches!
Have a wonderful day! Samantha |
