| Au Pair's Message to Families |
| Dear host family, I hope that through this letter I will be able to pass to you some information about me and my expectation for the exchange program. My name is Gabriella. I'm 22 years old Brazilian woman. I have recently graduated in Tourism from Universidade Veiga de Almeida (Brazilian University). I always loved English, and during my teenage I took courses but when I entered in University I lacked fluency. For this reason, and because I really love Tourism and other cultures I have decided to do an exchange program. Through a research about the best companies of cultural exchange I have known World Study where they showed me the Au Pair Program. Then I got interested in it because my profile fit the requisites and also because I knew it was the best way to go. Since I would live with an american family, taking care of their children, once I love kids and feel comfortable with them. My family gave me all the support I needed to "accomplish this goal". Spending a year away from my country, my family and my friends will be difficult but I am sure I will find extraordinary people who will be my new friends. Regarding my childcare experience, I worked in a diapering where I promoted a famous brand of diapers here in Brazil. I helped mothers to change the diapers of their children, explaining the benefits of the diaper and the correct way to put it, I took part of recreational activities with children in the presence of parents. Currently I am working as a volunteer in a nursery-school with about 180 children aged from 1 year to 6 years old. Participate in all activities related to children: giving food, changing diapers, potty training, bathing, putting to sleep, changing their clothes, and supervising play-ground activities. All the two experiences were and remain very important for me to learn to take care of children and become a much better person. I feel special and very happy to know that I am participating in the lives of these children, being important in their education and lives. It's really wonderful... Living in another country will be a valuable experience to me. I know that I am going to face some difficulties, but, after my period of adaptation I will feel realized and victorious for being there. I guess that's all for now. Hope to see you soon.
Love, Gabriella |
