Nanny job description

We are looking for someone who has an incredible attitude towards children and sees beyond their disabilitities, and focuses on their amazing abilities! Daughter with special needs requires someone with a positive and out-going personality who is able to assist her with activities of daily living and enjoys seeing a child grow and blossom! You will be amazed by her!! Must be able to work independantly as well as a team, and have common sense. Being creative with teaching the children as well as playing with them is extremely important on how you care for them. Occ. meal preparation and housecleaning duties. *** We are not looking for someone who just "does her job" but who enjoys her job and wants to be treated as though she is not just an employee but a member of our family! This is a job for someone who is warm and loving, energetic, and creative and wants to be more than a childcare provider....you want to be a part of the learning and growing of a child!

Family's Message to Nannies

Hi there, First of all, I would like to start by saying that if you are looking for a fun, loving, and honest family who will bring you into their lives and treat you like you are one of the family, then we are what you are looking for! We are from a smaller community just 10-15 minutes away from Calgary and <1hr to Banff/Mountains. We enjoy being outdoors and are involved in all of our children's activities. Our sons absolutely lives for sports, including hockey, soccer, baseball, golf and if you have any interest in snowboarding or skiing, they'll have you off to our Calgary Olympic Park (15min drive) every chance they can!! They are in French Immersion School so if anyone has an interest in teaching/learning French at home, it would be greatly appreciated (Ha Ha -being from the West, we know very little--but have enjoyed learning with them!)And lastly,but most importantly, if you are someone who sees the amazing gifts that a special needs child gives YOU back, then you will love being with our daughter. She is a very happy little girl who is extremely determined and constantly curious! She is continually gaining strength and making progress and the sky is the limit! She absolutely LOVES MUSIC AND DANCE! AND SPORTS. She loves playing hockey in the garage wth her brothers and will start ski lessons in the new year. There is nothing better! She is involved in therapeutic horse riding and music lessons in the home. So, like I said, we are really wanting a person who is not just looking for a job, but that wants to experience becoming part of a family with special needs and who knows how to laugh and enjoy life. While at the same time, realizes that we are a busy family and hence, we are relying on you to give it your best and work hard takes someone very wonderful to work with children, but it takes that "extra-something" in a person to realize WHAT IT REALLY takes and what you get back is 10-fold! We are wanting a 2 yr committment but would really want as long as possible, as saying good-bye to someone we have grown to love, is hard on everyone!
