Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are seeking a loving, fun and dynamic nanny to live with us in the Boston area. Our four boys have an active lifesyle with multiple sports, academic and social activities keeping them busy. Our youngest son is 4 years old and we need someone to care for him during the day around his preschool schedule. Additionally, we need someone who can help with the big boys' needs such as taking them to school, homework after school, playdates and sporting events. Our group requires someone with a lot of energy and enthusiasm for boys toys and activities.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Dear Nanny, We are looking for someone to help me out with our children. Allow me to tell you a little bit about our family. We live in a suburb of Boston about 10 miles from the city on the train line. We are in a great neighborhood with lots of other kids. We are very fortunate to have fabulous friends on our street who you will get to know very well. We have four boys ranging in age from 4 to 14. Matt is 14 and in the ninth grade at the high school. He is really a great kid, often helping with his brothers (who sometimes also tortures them). He loves his friends, sports, reading and music. He plays basketball, baseball, lacrosse and football. Christopher is 12 and in the sixth grade. Like Matt, he excels in sports such as skiing, baseball and soccer. Chris is an excellent student who is motivated to do his schoolwork on his own (but sometimes needs reminding to start). He loves being outside with his friends in the neighborhood, reading and playing video games. Andrew is 9 and in the fourth grade. Andrew is a super sunny child who loves to play outside, build things and play on the computer. He is a big helper around the house and at school. Jonathan is 4 and in preschool. He loves to play games, play cards, read books, and be outside. He wants to do all of the things the big boys do. He loves to be with his brothers. Diane works for about 25 minutes from home for Charlie is physician, a pediatric oncologist in Boston. He takes the train to work in the morning, spending time either in his research lab or in the hospital caring for kids with cancer. As a family, we love to spend time together in some active way when we aren't off to the kids activities. We ski in the winter and belong to a pool in the summer. We love to travel - we travel to Canada every summer and on a ski vacation in the winter. Here’s a brief description of the job. We are looking for someone who can help us out about 35-40 hours a week. We need our nanny to start work at 7:00 am to 9:00am in the morning. And then again, in the afternoons from noon until about 6 pm three days a week and from 2:30pm to 6pm two days a week. In addition to caring for the children and lots of playing with them, the position will include some meal preparation for the kids and some light housework, such as laundry, loading/unloading dishwasher, etc. We’re looking for someone with a clean driving record so that they can bring the kids out to their activiites. We are looking to find someone who can become part of our family as we have had great experiences in the past. We’re looking for a nanny with great traditional values who will help us teach the children how to grow into loving, considerate, responsible people.
