Au Pair's Message to Families

If you are looking for an au pair with experience please keep reading! I have over 7 years experience working with children. I started out volunteering at my church and this led to babysitting jobs while I was in high school. I found that I love working with children and that they love “hanging out” with me! And although I feel it is important to have fun I also believe that it is important to learn from our fun. I have worked in a multicultural daycare for newly immigrated families. The daycare tended to children from infants to preschool- after this I went overseas to Switzerland as an au pair for 2 school-aged children, and it was a good experience. I have also worked in Canada as an au pair before heading overseas again to Holland, where I was a nanny for 2 great boys! I currently work in a foster home taking care of babies who were born addicted to drugs and special needs children, and it is incredibly rewarding. As I stated I have volunteer experience working with children and young adults through mentoring programs. I try to lead a healthy lifestyle that includes nutritious meals…in addition I have experience as a cook! I also know French and can speak it fairly well. My main duties will always be tending to the children and caring for their needs, however, I am also willing to help with some household chores such as laundry, dishes, and general tidying of the children’s areas.
