Au Pair's Message to Families

My Dear Host Family My name is Thais I am 25 years old and I live with my family in Araraquara, São Paulo State, since 1992 Araraquara is 186 miles from the big city ofSão Paulo, and it has around 200.000 habitants; My parents, Márcia and Maurício, are retired bank employees and today they have a cake and sweets buffet for marriage parties. My parents are my life model. On weekends, we always gather the rest of the family (cousins, uncles, aunts) have lunch, talk and spend time together. My father and my mother are very patient and caring people. They helped me become what I am today. I have a sister, Leila, she is 23 . She lives in Rio Claro, next to São Paulo city and she studies Biology at São Paulo State University. I study Public Administration (undergraduation) at São Paulo State University, which is a public institution. In Brazil public universities are considered the best ones. This is my last graduation year , after six years!!! During my studies, I worked as a trainee for the Araraquara Municipal Government. When I graduate I intend to be an excellent professional and work at a big company in the finance field. I am a very responsible, determined and dedicated person. I have many friends and I like to go out with them to many places, like movies, theaters and restaurants. They are so important in my life that I consider them my family too. I believe that friends and family are precious jewels in our life. I also love pets!!! I have two dogs, two cats and a turtle. I work at “ a famous bank in Brazil, since 2005. I like the bank, it is an interesting experience. However, today I am not completely satisfied . I had always had a dream of working at a big company and being a business woman. I would like to thank you for this unique opportunity. I am sure this experience will contribute a lot for my personal improvement. I believe that USA will help me overcome my own barriers, learning how to live in another cultuly family around. Believe me, nothing is more important to me than doing my job with devotion and love; those are essential things in my life and part of my family principles. My last children care experiences made me see how great my child relationship is and also how productive it is to take care of a child. This experience has made all of my family and children that I looked after, satisfied. I have never had any difficulty with a child, that is why I honestly believe I will my job very well . I love children and Gabi and Rafa are very important to me. They are my best friends daughter and son and whenever is possible and they need, I take care of them with all my love. I enjoy taking them to the park , feeding them, watching TV together. I simply love their smile!!! I would also like to improve my English, that is why this trip and work experience are very important for my professional plans. Living with an American family would help a lot achieving my goal. I know I will miss my family and friends in Brazil, but I believe we should deal with issues of life with courage and patience, in order to become a better person. My family and I will be very happy this year because of my experience abroad. For all of these reasons I decided to enroll in the au pair program and I really hope you like my profile.
