Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Future Family, I am a 26 year old woman who was raised in New York and Arizona. I attended Arizona State University where I studied psychology and took child development classes. I am currently living in Florence, Italy as an AuPair for 2 precious boys who are 2 and 4 yr old. Initially I planned on staying with this wonderful family until June but due to a recent pregnancy they may be moving so I am looking for another family to bond with! While attending college I was a nanny for 2 families. One of the families had 2 beautiful girls that were 4 & 6yrs old when I started. I was with this family for nearly 2 years and became very close with them. I also worked for a family that had younger children, 1 & 3yr old boys. I also worked as a preschool teacher for a year where I taught a class of 23 3yr olds....(that was quite an experience). I have been first aid and CPR certified and have been raised by a mother who is a pediatric nurse practioner. I have worked with children for over 10 years and love it! I can honestly say that working with children is my passion. I am a creative person who loves to interact with children whether it be doing arts and crafts projects for fun or school, playing sports, board games, make believe, and helping with school work. I like the outdoors, traveling and learning about new cultures, volunteering, going to the beach, skiing (on the water & snow), horseback riding, and yoga as well as many other activities. I am an energetic, responsible, fun loving person who is looking for a family to bond with. I have found that children flock to me and seem to like me just as much as I like them. I grew up in New York and am the youngest of 3. I have 2 older brothers. We are a very close family! My grandparents on my father’s side was born in Abruzzi Italy. She wouldn’t love anything more then for me to visit her homeland of Italy. Prior to arriving in Italy in August I had not been out of the US except to mexico and the carribeann when I was much younger, but I am dying to travel all over the world! I would love to live in Italy but am open to many other countries as well. I am open to the idea of taking language classes and even working another job if it fits into the schedule. My number one priority will always be taking care of your children! Prior to moving to Italy I was working in the financial industry as an Investment Advisor. I have also had a great deal of experience working in the hospitality industry as a waitress. I am ready for a change. I am ready to explore new worlds, new experiences, new people.
