Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear family My name is Helene , I'm a german girl and I'm looking forward to become an Au pair. I live in a small village with my mum, dad and my three sisters in the age of 15 to 23. My mother is a housewife and my father is an industrial mechanic. In my leisure time I like do some kinds of sport like swimming, dancing, cycling and meeting friends, go to the cinema and spending time with children. This year I made my A-levels and actually I'm in Sydney. I'm interested in to become an Au pair because I really like spending time with children. In Germany I was in charge of a catholic group of about 7 girls in the age of 10 to 12 over a period of 3 years. One time per week we get together for one and a half hour and in this time we made some outdoor activities, played games, cooked, did handicrafts... Besides I made a training in a nursery school for one week. Last year (august 2008) I was one of the ten supervisor on a catholic summer camp. We organised the camp for about 40 children in the age of 10 to 16. The summer camp took place in the black forest that's in the South of Germany. Over a period of two weeks we offered outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, sport games... and some creative activities like handicrafts, theater, dancing... Another reason why I want to become an au pair is that I want to see the life in an australian family and to get know a different culture. Last but not least I want also improve my English language skills. I'm looking forward to become a part of your family. :) Best regards Helene
