| Dear Family :)
My name is Aimee and I'm currently living in Memphis, Tennessee. To say that I love children is a wild understatement. At a party, you're more likely to find me crawling around on the floor making faces at the toddlers rather than mingling with the adults.
I'm 21 years old, and I'm the second oldest of six children. I credit my love of children to the constant presence of children in my own home as I grew up. I've been baby sitting since I can remember -- mom and dad put me to work early on, watching my three little sisters & my little brother. I'm extraordinarily close to my family. My parents are my best friends in the world.
I spent 6 months of this past year working with an AMAZING family (two PRECIOUS girls ages 2 and 4) here in Germantown, who actually found me through GreatAuPair :)
As far as hobbies go, I love music, and I LOVE to cook. Some people go to a coffee shop to relax -- I go to the grocery store. I was born and raised in South Louisiana, so Creole/Cajun cooking is something I really enjoy preparing & eating. I like spending time in the kitchen creating great food to share with my family and friends.
I'm not the most athletic person in the world, but I can certainly keep up with most children. I have an 11-year-old little brother that helps keep me in shape! He also manages to keep me up to date with game systems -- I'm a fierce competitor in Wii sports & a decent Guitar Hero. I LOVE putting together art projects, playing dress up, dancing, and generally having a good time. I'm a big believer in balancing 'couch potato' time with getting up, going outside in the sunshine and doing something active. I'm not going to sit your children in front of the TV or video games for hours at a time -- I really enjoying going on outings, whether it's the park, a museum, or the grocery store. One of my favorite destinations with my former family was the Memphis Zoo -- nothing better than a picnic date with the monkeys!
I am a Christian (nondenominational) with moderately conservative beliefs. This is the way I was raised, and it has certainly affected the way I approach child care. I love to have fun, but I also take it very seriously that someone is entrusting the care of their child to me. I aim to stay consistent with the way a parent is already raising their child, not unravel your parenting while you're not around.
I'm a full-time student at the University of Memphis, but I'm available every weekday after 2:00 in the afternoon and all throughout the weekends. I realize that's an odd schedule for a prospective nanny, but hey, it's what I'm trying to accomplish.
Okay, speech is over -- I hope you find exactly who you're looking for, Family, and I look forward to maybe hearing from you :)
