Au Pair/Nanny job description

Hours are flexible, help get kids up and out to school, help shuttle them to activities such as soccer, music lessons, swim lessons etc… Watch the little ones a few hours during the day so I can run errands and work out, accompany me on outings with the little ones to help keep them in line (we can go on day trips together to the zoo, children’s museums etc...) General tidying up daily (we have a house keeper that does the major cleaning). Watch the kids one evening a week for my husband and I to have date night and one weekend every 4-6 weeks once they are settled in with you. Accompany us on family vacations. You are welcome to 2 days off a week that we can schedule together, but you are not excluded by any means from family activities on your days off.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Nanny/AuPair needed for a loving family of 5 located on the Oregon Coast walking distance to river and 10 minutes from the beach. I am a nurse by training but stay home most of the time, my husband is a doctor. I am looking for more of a "personal assistant" to help keep the kids in line and decrease stress. Someone to be home when I need to run errands. Once you are acclimated to our family I will go back to school part time mostly on-line to complete my masters. Astoria is a small historic vacation town where the Columbia river meets the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular movie making town, movies like Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles, Goonies, Kidergarten Cop, and Short Circuit were filmed there along with a few others I can’t remember. The local culture and cuisine is EXCELLENT! It pulls people from all over the world to come and experience the Pacific Northwest. Our home is in town, you will have a vehicle to enjoy the local area and our home has two master bedrooms one of which would be yours. We are looking for someone that has already raised their children and is able to become a part of our family. We are open to younger women that know that they would like to wait for their own family and can commit to ours. A perfect fit would be loving and playful with the kids but also willing to maintain order and discipline when needed. She would be flexible with her schedule. She would work well with others because I will be with her a lot of the time. She would enjoy living in a small historic town with frequent visits to surrounding metro areas. She would have to like traveling because we plan to have her along on frequent family vacations (varying from weekend road trips to week long international trips). Experience in education and/or music education is a plus, but not a must. If you feel that you are a good fit, we look forward to meeting you!
