Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family! My name is Tatyana. I am 23 years old. I was born in Sumy, Ukraine. Sumy is not very big, but it is very beautiful town. It is a regional, cultural, industrial, educational center. As for my family, it is not very big: my father (he is a pensioner) my mother (she is a housewife) and my sister, but she lives far from us in Spain with her family. At the age of 6 I went to school. From the 5th form I started to learn English and that was my favorite subject. When I was a schoolgirl I wanted to become a teacher, because it is interesting to teach someone, to give knowledge to children. So, when I finished school I decided to enter Sumy State Pedagogical University. There I continued to learn English and I started to learn computer science. When I was a sophomore I had my first practice at school in the 4th form, but it was almost passive practice, because I’ve just play some games with children during the breaks, I didn’t gave lessons. My next practice was a year later when I worked as a “guide’ in the summer camp in the Crimea. I’ve spent 21 day with children in the camp. There were 8 Young Pioneer units and I was the guide of the 1st Young Pioneer unit where were children of the age from 7 to 10. I spent all the time from the morning till the evening with children, I woke up them at 7 and our day begins. We played games, read books, went to the sea side with other Young Pioneer units, went to the swimming pool, went horse riding. I had my practice at school again when I was junior (I gave lessons of English) and senior (I also gave lessons of English and of computer science). I like reading, do house work, cook, listen to the music, I can swim, but not very good. Unfortunately, I’ve never worked as an au pair, but I like to take care of children and that is the reason why I decided to be an au pair. Now, I am a senior student and I will graduate from the university at the end of June. I’d like to learn all about your country and to become a part of your family and take care of kids, being responsible, awardable and doing my best. Sincerely yours, Tatyana.
