On December 22, she confirmed that she had a ticket to come to Zurich for Jan 2, 2009 to begin as an au pair with our family. I sent her several text messages, emails and tried to phone her to confirm exactly when she was arriving to pick her up or make arrangements for her to come to our house. I never heard anything again, not even the courtesy of saying that she would not be coming. We never heard from her again yet, we can see that she logs in daily to the portal. In my mind, this weakens the quality of your portal if you have potential au pairs as Hanka that show neither the professionality nor the courtesy of a simple communication saying that she is not coming. She fully led us to believe she would be arriving on Jan 2, for which I happily will present our communication as proof. Never at anytime during this process did she imply she would not come or had second thoughts. Families depend on the professionality as well as common courtesy. I now have to assume that Hana is not a dependable, ideal au pair candidate.
