| After pulling my 2 year old son out of the window for the third time today (a trick which our former nanny pictured here taught our son) I finally had to write. While Fatima is nice enough, we finally ended up having to fire her because of simple negligence in regards to watching children. Among the things which she did while under our employment were: threatening to put our 3-year old daughter in the street for the dogs to eat her (because she wouldn't put on her jacket..and she said this in front of the director of our daughter's preschool), threatening to hit our daughter (in front of another mother), leaving our son (who is less than 2) home alone (to her credit, she told us afterward that she did it, but where is the judgment?), teaching him to climb out the window of our home (needless to say, not wise to teach children), and leaving them alone for periods of time long enough for our daughter to loop a rope around our son's neck (my visiting mother in law, thank God, found them) and to get into the top shelfs of our garage to play with dangerous items. ... Or coming home to find my 2 year old in front of the TV (forbidden in our home during the day) while the nanny was on another floor. And I'm not even mentioning that she seemed to find her time on the internet (with the computer we got her) more important than her job to take our son out of the house and play with him in the mornings. Like I said, she is nice enough, but it got to the point that I simply felt awful leaving our children every day with her, fearing for what might happen while we were gone. |
