*** BEWARE ***

I was speaking to this family for the last week. I had given them a lot of information and had moved forward to speaking on the phone. I had given the family all my contact information. I also had asked them to call me because I have never made an international phone call. I also do not have a land line because I only use a cell phone. I do not have the capability to make an international phone call with my provider. This is what I received from the family. -------- quote email -------------------------------- 1.We read all. 2.We don't need James Bond calls from cell phones - go to any cheap phone point - it should cost peanuts. Unless You're broke in which case be frank and we'll phone and repeat Your present phone number with prefix. ------------end quote email------------------------------------- I took offense to the way they spoke to me and so I responded with the following: I think you might not understand how phones work in America, especially in big cities like Los Angeles. No young person living on their own has a land line. There is no reason to. If someone needs to reach us, we are available on the cell. If we are out of the house they would leave a message that might not be answered for a while. No sense in wasting time or money, we just use the cell phones. I am not broke and I am offended that you spoke to me the way you did. I have never made an international phone call. I have had no reason to. I thought it would be easier and faster to talk one on one if you were to call me. It had nothing to do with me making you pay for it. In the future, when you talk to young Americans they might be equally offended if you continue to speak to people that way. Consequently, I am no longer interested in living with you and taking care of your children. I wish you the best of luck in your search.

Have a nice evening,

--------- end of my email to the family ---------------------------- I then received this email which was extremely offensive, unprovoked and rude. ----------- begin email from Nina---------------------

We are very sorry but the young Americans we know phone from everywhere to everyone and don't get offended like the racist rednecks of Alabama over a spilled beer . So why not try babysitting for an idiot like George Bush who thinks Paris is in Texas and-that's-it-honey.I'm sure You'll fit each other. ------------ end email from family-------------------------------------- PLEASE do not go into another country thinking you have a secure job with a loving family to be treated like this. After you have already gone to their country and town packed with everything you need to live for a year.

This is true, I got e-mails the same from this person, I wish I had seen this page before I started talking with them, they are rude and more than likely a scam, or why would they want someone from the states but then offend us by insulting our president and country.
