For language, the Japanese and English do not need to be fluent, but able to converse in at least one well. Looking for someone that is pro-active, reliable, can speak English, hopefully deal with Japanese, fun, full of energy, likes to play with the kids, and enjoys the work. Being happy and fun and energetic and happy to engage with the kids makes up for a lot of things such as lack of experience or inability to speak a language.

Looking for an au pair in central Karuizawa for 2 children, one is in 8th grade (13, boy), and the other is in high school grade 2(16, girl). Both kids are native Japanese speakers, and understand English quite well but can be shy to speak in English, but they are getting better and better. I want them to speak more English, of course.
The job will involve school taking care of things while I work and commute. Walking the dog, taking the kids out, or to an activity after school, staying at home with the kids, preparing snack, sometimes cooking dinner, light housecleaning, etc. All normal nanny/aupair stuff. The kids are older now, and the work load will be easy. I simply need someone to look after things while I am working.
