Au Pair job description

We require someone who is cheerful, caring and responsible with a positive attitude to assist in running the house for several months. We live in a small town on the coast with beach and harbour the nearest large town is Colchester. The au-pair must be flexible enough to share in all daily work around house including help with cooking. Nothing too demanding is required just and extra pair of hands so an au-pair here can work outside the home part time to enable them to earn more money in addition to any allowance. Else they will have free time for leisure and sight-seeing, or studying such as for language or other purposes. This has worked well before with our recent au-pair having come each of the last four years in summer. We are flexible as to any arrangements. A trial visit beforehand is also welcome if required to ensure that you and we would be happy with the role and location. We would prefer somebody who is already in this country who can be interviewed.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

We live near Colchester in a nice detached house with a large garden and over-looking farm-land in a tree lined avenue by the in a small town by the sea which has beaches, a fishing and yachting harbour, and country park. The nearest large town of Colchester is about 20 minutes away by car or bus. From Colchester to London is about 45 minutes by train, the nearest airport is London Stansted airport which is about 30 munites away from Colchester else Norwich airport about an hour away. The au-pair would have their own room, television, hi-fi equipment and internet connection and loan of a computer or may bring their own and would be free to use any part of the house or beach chalet etc and may choose themselves whether or not to partcipate in any holidays or outings etc and their privacy eg for studying etc would be ensured. This arrangement has worked well before. Please feel free to ask us any questions to help decide. We will provide every assistance to ensure that an au-pair feels accepted as an equal family member within the household and will encourage them to participate in decisions and express their views end hope that they enjoy their stay here.
