Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear host family My name is Nayara and I am from Brazil. I am here applying myself to be your new au pair. Let me introduce myself. I am twenty years old, I have a major in Portuguese and English. I live with my parents, my sister and some pets. We live in a big city called Sorocaba, countryside of the state, southeast of Brazil. I like all kinds of sports like volleyball, soccer and swim. Carlos is my father (52), he works at as an operator machine. Antonia is my mother (47), she is a housewife and my sister’s name is Jéssica (22) she works as a customer support in a multinational company. My family is perfect, funny, we do many things together. I regularly help my mother with the cooking and household. We also have two dogs Nick and Billy, who is part of the family and are very good friends to all of us. Since 2005 I am working in a school kindergarten. I worked with 2 and 3 years old children where I used to assist the responsible teacher of these children helping her classroom activities such as recreation, painting and singing song for children. Since June 2007 , I am a daycare teacher, my students are from 1 year and 2 months to 2 years, I put them on bed, give bath and I teach music for them. I adore this group, in fact I love kids. I have always taken care of children. In 2005 I took care of Larissa (2) in 2006 I took care of Ian (2) during the night, in 2007 I took care of Luca (1 year and 4 months), while their mothers worked, I organized their toys, read fairy tales, gave their bath, prepared their bottle, went to parks, walked, etc. I really enjoy this job, because I love working with children. In my free time, I enjoy biking, swimming, walking around with some friends or my dogs and visit different places. I also love going to the zoo. Indoors, I enjoy reading, listening to music and cooking something different. During holidays and vacations I usually go out with my family and with my friends. I am friendly, talkative, responsible, dedicated, organized, studious and honest. I believe that communication and respect between the au pair and the host family is very important for a good relationship. I decided to be an au pair to improve my English, and also because I love children. Besides, I am very interested in learning about a new culture, meeting new people, meeting a new country, be more responsible and independent. I think all these points together will improve my knowledgment and I will also develop a great work based on my experiences. Moreover, it will be very important in my future career here in Brazil. Well, I hope the new accept me as a big sister, not only as just someone looking after and taking care of the children. I really want to do this au pair program. It is a great opportunity to grow u as a professional and as a person. Finally, I would love to know more about your family, kids, and the place you live in.
